maria sveland, born November 26, 1974, is a Swedish journalist and author.
Sveland did her education at the Stockholm University and at the Dramatic Institute's radio line and has made several programs for SR and SVT.
She was awarded in 2003 with the Ikaros Prize for the radio documentary Like a whore.
In 2007 she made her debut fiction book with Bitterfitta (Bitter Bitch), which made her known to a wider audience. The book, which has been likened to a hybrid between a novel, an autobiography and a reportage has been translated to many languages.
katarina wennstam, born August 9, 1973, is a Swedish journalist, author and lecturer.
She previously worked as a crime reporter for Swedish Television, but resigned in 2007 to write and lecture in full time.
The book The Girl and the Debt was nominated for the August Literary Award and she was awarded the Vilhelm Moberg Scholarship and the Swedish Lawyer’s Association Prize for Journalism.
Wennstam has also been awarded with the SVT's equality prize, Prix Egalia, for her work on SVT's Agenda.
In 2007 came Wennstam’s first novel Dirt, a book about trafficking and sex trafficking. The book was highly acclaimed and climbed right up to the first place in the Swedish Book Top.
After that she wrote Dödergök (2008) on the police officers' domestic violence, as well as Alpha Male (2010), dealing with sexual harassment and violence in the film industry.
